Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from heaven, they would say, 'A massed cloud!' 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36]. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
True are the words of God the Almighty.
