The Stars (Al-Najm)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the star when it sets: 1 This fellow-man of yours has not gone astray, nor is he deluded, 2 And he does not say anything by his own desire. 3 It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: 4 One of mighty powers hath taught it him. 5 Of might, he (Gabriel) stood firm 6 While he was on the uppermost horizon. 7 Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. 8 until he was two bow-lengths away or even closer 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 His heart did not lie of what he saw. 11 Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he seeth? 12 And assuredly he saw him at another descent. 13 Nigh unto the lote-tree at the boundary. 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 When the lote-tree was being enveloped, by whatever around it. 16 his eyes did not swerve, nor did they stray 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: 19 And Manat the other third? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 That is indeed an unfair division! 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 To Allah belongs the Eternal life and the first life. 25

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
