The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 The reward for what they did. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and continuous shade, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virginal, 36 chastely amorous, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
