Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
