Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 and the severally severing 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
