The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
