Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
