Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha, Meem. 1 I swear by the Book that makes things clear: 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them." 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And Who sent down water from the sky with a proper measure, so We revived a dead city with it; this is how you will be taken out. 11 it is He who created all living things in pairs and gave you ships to sail in and beasts to ride upon 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
