The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
