Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
