۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Then, are we not to die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
