Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
