Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
