The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not take heed? 124 I am for you an honest Messenger. 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 Have fear of God and obey me. 131 and fear Him who has succoured you with what you know, 132 Hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day." 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
