[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
