Now whatever calamity may befall you [on Judgment Day] will be an outcome of what your own hands have wrought, although He pardons much; 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And of His signs are the ships in the sea like landmarks. 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 Or He could wreck them for what they have done; yet there is much that He pardons. 34 Let those who dispute Our signs know that there is no way of escape for them. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them, 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is inflicted on them, (are not cowed but) help and defend themselves. 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 Those who defend themselves after they have been wronged cannot be held blameworthy, 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage. 43
