The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
