No, by the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
