The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 that hide, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
