The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted." 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
