And verily we sent Noah (as Our messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrong-doers. 14 And We rescued him and those with him in the ship, and made of it a portent for the peoples. 15 And We sent Ibrahim. Recall what time he said unto his people: worship Allah, and fear Him; that is best for you if ye but knew. 16 “You worship only idols instead of Allah, and only forge a clear lie; indeed those whom you worship instead of Allah do not control your sustenance – therefore seek your sustenance from Allah, and worship Him, and be grateful to Him; it is towards Him that you will be returned.” 17 If you belie me, other nations before you also belied. It is only for a Messenger to deliver the clear deliverance. 18 Have they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy. 19 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Travel in the land and see how He creates for the first time, then Allah brings forth the next development; indeed Allah is Able to do all things.” 20 He causes to suffer whomever He wills, and bestows His mercy on whomever He wills; and unto Him you shall be made to return: 21 And ye cannot escape in the earth nor in the heaven, and beside Allah there is for you no friend nor helper. 22
