A multitude from the ancients. 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on the Left! 41 In scorching wind and scalding water 42 and the shadows of black smoke 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty. 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 47 And also our forefathers? 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then indeed you, the astray, the deniers - 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 It is He who created you, then why do you not affirm the truth? 57 Have you considered the seed you spill? 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We have [indeed] decreed that death shall be [ever-present] among you: but there is nothing to prevent Us 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Ponder upon the soil you till, 63 Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause? 64 If We so pleased, We could turn your harvest into chaff. Then you would start lamenting, 65 “We have been penalised; 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 And have you seen the fire that you ignite? 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74

ColorfulQuran.com uses an English translation algorithm that combines several translations on one page. It randomly loads a different translation for each verse with equal probabilities.
