Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 So he shall be in a life of pleasure, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
