Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
