He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 Yet you pay attention 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 And he fears, 9 You neglect. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 olives, dates, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 mother, father, 35 wife and sons, 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Dust shall cover them 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
