The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
