The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 for a great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 A Register inscribed. 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
