Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye? 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 You and your fathers? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 “And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.” 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
