The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and shade extended, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and fruits abounding 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 and raised couches 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
