Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
