and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 These men do say, 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
