Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
