Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients. 6 But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. 7 Wherefore We destroyed peoples mightier than these in prowess; and there hath gone forth the example of the ancients. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
