By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 As a warning unto men, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 From the guilty. 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
