S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many ancient generations did We destroy? (On facing Our torment) they cried out for help, but it was too late for them to escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". 5 And their leaders launch forth [thus]: "Go ahead, and hold steadfastly onto your deities: this, behold, is the only thing to do! 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or have they the treasuries of thy Lord's mercy, the All-mighty, the All-giving? 9 Or is it that theirs is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend by any 10 They are only a small band among the defeated confederate tribes. 11 To the truth gave the lie aforetime Noah's people, and [the tribe of] Ad, and Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
