Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and yellow camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
