The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the heirs 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
