Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In an elevated garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and had not known my account. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
