The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; 2 the pious who believe in the unseen, attend to prayer, give in charity part of what We have granted them; 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these they are the blissful ones. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 God has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a covering, and there awaits them a mighty chastisement. 7
