The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
