We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 These men do say, 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
