The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
