The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 who guard their privates, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 These are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
