O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 And those who believe in the communications of their Lord, 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 and, most surely, you are calling them to a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 Until when We shall open upon them a portal of severe torment, and lo! thereat they are desparing. 77
