Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
