The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!" 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one! 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 And let them know that the water [of their wells] is to be divided between them, with each share of water equitably apportioned." 28 But they summoned their [boldest] companion, and he ventured [upon the evil deed,] and cruelly slaughtered [the animal]: 29 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 30 We loosed against them one Cry, and they were as the wattles of a pen-builder. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 through Our Mercy. So it is that We recompense the thankful. 35 He had warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warnings. 36 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
