۞ But nay! I swear by the falling of stars; 75 And verily that is a mighty oath, if ye but knew! 76 That this is indeed the glorious Qur'an 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 which none but the pure may touch; 79 Sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 And to give (it) the lie you make your means of subsistence. 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 Whereas you watch at that moment! 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) 86 Can you not bring him back? (Answer) if you are truthful 87 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. 88 (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. 89 And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand, 90 'Peace be upon thee, Companion of the Right!' 91 And if he is one of the rejecters, the erring ones, 92 He shall have an entertainment of boiling water, 93 and will be scorched by the Fire. 94 This is indeed the ultimate truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great One. 96
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah). Sent down in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
