Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the One Wrapped in piety! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 A half of it or a little less 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Behold, We shall cast upon you a Weighty Word. 5 surely the first part of the night is heavier in tread, more upright in speech, 6 You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world. 7 And remember thou the name of thy Lord, and devote thyself to Him with an exclusive devotion. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector. 9 And bear thou with patience whatsoever they say, and depart from them with a becoming departure. 10 And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little while. 11 We have prepared for them fetters, flaming fire, 12 And food which choketh (the partaker), and a painful doom 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 Surely We have sent to you an Apostle, a witness against you, as We sent an apostle to Firon. 15 But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. 16 If you persist in denying the truth how will you escape the Day that will turn the children's hair grey. 17 Whereby heaven shall be split, and its promise shall be performed. 18 Surely this is a Reminder; so let him who will take unto his Lord a way. 19
