The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise and warn, 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 And pollution shun. 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 and who still desires more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
