Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 The honourable recorders. 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 [It will be] a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to another human being: for on that Day [it will become manifest that] all sovereignty is God's alone. 19
